Description

NAFFCO Microprocessor Based Electric Motor Controllers for fire pumps are listed by Underwriters Laboratories (UL file number EX15064), in accordance with UL 218 (Standard for Fire Pump Controller), UL 508a (Standard for Industrial Control Panel), NFPA 20 (National Fire Protection Association Pamphlet 20- Standard for Centrifugal Fire Pumps), NFPA 70 (National Electric Code) and NEMA stand.

Power ratings vary from 40 to 400 horsepower, 230 / 380 / 415 VAC, 50/60 Hz.

Jockey Pump Controller

Description

NAFFCO Jockey Pump Controllers are listed by Underwriters Laboratories (UL file number E309408), in accordance with UL 508A (Standard for Industrial Control Panel), NFPA 70 (National Electric Code) and NEMA Standards.

Power ratings vary from 1.5 to 40 horsepower, 380 to 415 volts, 50 or 60 Hz.

Diesel Pump Controller

Description

NAFFCO Microprocessor Based Fire Pump Diesel Engine Controller are listed by Underwriters Laboratories (UL file number EX15064), in accordance with UL 218 (Standard for Fire Pump Controller), UL 508a (Standard for Industrial Control Panel), NFPA 20 (National Fire Protection Association Pamphlet 20 – Standard for Centrifugal Fire Pumps), NFPA 70 (National Electric Code) and NEMA standards.

Also approved by FM approvals (Factory Mutual), in accordance with FM standard 1321 / 1323 (Standard for Fire Pump Controller).

Power ratings suitable for 12/24 volts DC operating voltage, 110 / 220 volts AC input voltage, 50/60 Hz. These controllers are compatible with most types of diesel engines used for fire pump applications

End Suction Pump

Description

The casing is designed for back pull-out which permits the removal of complete rotor unit without removing suction and discharge pipe. The cast iron volute casing is of robust design with integrally cast feet, vertical top centerline discharge with axial suction incorporating cast inlet vane to give best flow to impeller eye.

Driven end / non-driven end bearing are grease lubricated deep groove ball bearings.

Impeller is double shrouded type. It is hydraulically balanced and positively driven by shaft key and axially locked between sleeve and impeller nut.

Soft-packed stuffing box. Graphite impregnated type gland packing.

Horizontal Split Case Pump

Description

  • Standardized design with reliable performance
  • The cast iron casing is axially split which permits removal of the complete rotor without moving either piping or motor. Pumps generating high heads have double volutes to reduce radial forces, ensuring minimal shaft deflection and low bearing loads.
  • The bronze closed type impellers have double curved vanes. The double suction design gives practically zero axial forces. Each impeller is statically and dynamically balanced.
  • The carbon steel shaft is fully sealed against the liquid being pumped. Shaft protecting sleeves are fitted in the seal area.
  • Replaceable cast iron rings protect the casing at the impeller running clearances.
  • Stuffing box is fitted with mechanical seal. Pump can be supplied with gland packing also.
  • Bearings are grease lubricated deep groove ball type.

Jockey Pump

Description

A jockey pump is a small pump connected to a fire sprinkler system to maintain pressure in the sprinkler pipes. This is to ensure that if a fire-sprinkler is activated, there will be a pressure drop, which will be sensed by the fire pumps automatic controller, which will cause the fire pump to start.

A jockey pump is sized for a flow less than the flow to one sprinkler in order to ensure a system pressure drop. Hence a jockey pump is an important part of the fire pumps control system.

Jockey pumps are typically small multistage centrifugal pumps, and do not have to be listed or certified for fire system application. The control equipment for jockey pumps may however carry approvals.

Vertical Turbine Fire Pump

Description

Suction bell is furnished with an extra-long bearing that strengthens and provides rigid support for the lower end of the pump shaft. Suction bell provides efficient flow into the eye of the first stage impeller.

The rugged pump discharge head assembly is made of close-grained cast iron. It has smooth passageways that ensures efficient overall operation and provides an above ground connection to the discharge piping.

Impellers are enclosed type, made of bronze / SS 304 and matched to the pump bowls. Each impeller is statically / dynamically balanced as per ISO 1940-1 to insure highest efficiency and vibration free operation

Fire Equipment Cabinet

Description

NAFFCO proudly manufactures fire-rated cabinets for use in fire-rated assemblies. Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. has classified and listed NAFFCO fire-rated cabinets for combustible and non-combustible wall systems. The cabinets are tested to ASTM E814 or UL1679 results in hourly rating of 2 hour for both flame (“F”) and temperature transfer (“T”). The fire-rated option eliminates the costly need to line the wall opening with fire-rated material. It also provides the specified assurance in maintaining the integrity of the wall penetration and in meeting building code specifications.
